Brooklyn Bridge & Central Park NYC

Pigged by ChiroBie at 2:55 PM 2 Anti-Pig
(Travel Period : 28th June - 5th July 2009)

Brooklyn Bridge - connects Manhattan with New York's most populous borough, Brooklyn. The bridge is one of the most magnificent landmarks in New York. Brooklyn is one the 5 borough of New York City. Brooklyn contains hundreds of distinct neighborhoods, representing many of the major ethnic groups found within the New York City area. The borough is home to a large African-American community. Brooklyn is also home to many Russians, who are mainly concentrated in community of Brighton Beach and surrounding communities.
Ziegfeld Theatre - the most beautiful movie theatre in New York City. The original Ziegfeld (home of the Follies) is long gone, but its offspring remains. The Theater is on 54th street Manhattan with fountains gracing one side of the building. It's got red plush seats and walls, with massive chandeliers and cool old black and white photos. And yes, stadium seating, so you can see even you're way back because the screen is crazily HUGE. Only ONE screen and ONE movie on screen at ONE season. It is totally awesome, even if it makes me feel under-dressed. We went for Transformer, Danbo's favorite. We had a very great experience watching in for this very first time. I truly madly love this cinema. Once you walk in, you will get me!
Central Park - is one of those places that make New York such a great place to live. The huge park, 843 acres large (341 ha), is located in the center of Manhattan : nearer to Harlem City, along uptown Manhattan. Its design is an example for city parks around the world. The park boasts several lakes, theaters, ice rinks, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields, many playgrounds and other facilities. Especially during the weekends, when cars are not allowed into the park, Central Park is a welcome oasis in this hectic city. Central Park is situated in Manhattan between 59th and 110th street and between Fifth and Eight Ave. Can you imagine that we walked from north Central Park to the south, more than 50 STREETS ! ! ! First time in my life time, walking for sooooooooooo long in such a superduper HUGE park! Again we are superduper truly madly in love with this gigantic park!
Oh yeah, we do not have a wide lens thus pictures are limited. I must say everything in New York is just TOOOOOO HUGE & BIG. Its not easy to take pictures hehe. But do enjoy the pictures in this post, in this blog!Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum - is one of the best-known museums in New York City and one of the 20th century's most important architectural landmarks. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the museum––which is often called simply The Guggenheim. Located near Central Park.
Oh yeah dinner time - Tad's Steaks Times Square.
My next up post will be National Day U.S.A

Statue Of Liberty & Downtown NYC

Pigged by ChiroBie at 1:00 PM 2 Anti-Pig
(Travel Period : 28th June - 5th July 2009)

Statue Of Liberty - located at Liberty Island in New York Harbor, enlightening the world was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of United States and its a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. Tickets are needed in order to be able to travel to the island by ferry. You can either take ferry from New Jersey or Battery Park at downtown Manhattan, we took "Miss Jersey" from New Jersey Liberty National Park. The ferry will stop by Ellis Island before Liberty Island. Crown is now open for public - again my regret for not going up the crown.
Manhattan from Liberty Island.
Lower Manhattan or better known as Downtown Manhattan located at the southernmost part of Manhattan Island, New York City - the main district of business and government center. It is defined most commonly as the area delineated on the north by 14th street, on the west by Hudson river.
World Trade Center - WAS a complex in Lower Manhattan in New York City whose 7 buildings were destroyed in 2001-911. The site is now being rebuilt. This is what left - WTC PATH station. We both stay in New Jersey City, so walking through this station is like everyday-must.
New York City’s Chinatown - the largest Chinatown in the United States—and the site of the largest concentration of Chinese in the western hemisphere—is located on the lower east side of Manhattan. Both a tourist attraction and the home of the majority of Chinese New Yorkers, Chinatown offers visitor and resident alike hundreds of restaurants, booming fruit and fish markets and shops of knickknacks and sweets on torturously winding and overcrowded streets.

But personally, we dislike NYC's Chinatown, to be in comparison with London Chinatown, we prefer the latter one. As tourist like me, I find it too complicated, huge and crowded plus dirty. However, I bet the Chinese New Yorkers and local can deal with this place real well.
Little Italy NYC - is just located at the next street of New York City's Chinatown., just like Chinatown, you can find varieties of Italian products and restaurants. And we love this place XD
My next post up will be Brooklyn Bridge & Central Park NYC.

Times Square NYC

Pigged by ChiroBie at 1:59 PM 2 Anti-Pig
(Travel Period : 28th June - 5th July 2009)

Times Square, the most bustling square of New York is known for its many Broadway theatres, cinemas and supersigns. It is one of those places that make New York a city that never sleeps. Many people have no idea how Times Square looks like, include myself. Until I stepped my foot onto one of the busiest city in the world - New York City. And yeah I've been to Times Square, New York City, The U.S.America.
Two months trip around the states, my first stop - New York City. And Times Square definitely my first place to visit. Times Square located at Manhattan. Manhattan divided into 3 parts - downtown, midtown and uppertown. Uppertown Manhattan is also known as Harlem City. Harlem is a neighbourhood in the New York City borough of Manhattan, long known as a major African-American residential. Midtown Manhattan is where Times Square located. The streets in Manhattan are labeled by number of streets from downtown up to more than 100 streets at Harlem City.
Manhattan is also well divided into East and West side. Nearer to the upper Manhattan or Harlem City, located the Central Park. The ONLY park in Manhattan and yeah, the BIGGEST PARK EVER. Its awesomely HUGE and nice. You might find it awfully-torturing when you FIRST look at NYC map, but soon after, you will find that its really easy to travel in New York City because it is a well-organized and planned city. I personally get amazed XD.

Broadway theatre, commonly called simply Broadway, refers to theatrical performances located in the theatre district, New York City - Manhattan. Broadway tickets can be ordered online or simply purchase them at the visitor center near the theatre district. Average price for one ticket is around $100-120 and student can be discounted - $40-50. A very good deal I suppose. We regreted for not getting one.
The biggest M&M store at Midtown Manhattan. It is huge, awesome and nice XD Variety of colors, different kind of M&M chocos, accesories, and apparels. We madly love this store!
Toys"R"Us - One word - FUN
Night View at Midtown Manhattan and Times Square. Everybody loves night view and I am sure nobody will dislike NYC night view. The second best night view in the states after Vegas.
Empire State Building -skyscraper building in New York City located at 34th street, 102nd floor - stood as the tallest building after destruction of World Trade Center. Americans are at liberty to do whatever they want as long as it is NOT a criminal. That is the reason why Statue of Liberty still standing firmly on the land of America. Other than street actions, everyday in US.TV we are well entertained by the jokes created by "them", oh yeah about everything including the president of course! And one said, illegal workers will only get caught IF the policemen has A reason to check their passport, they can't simply stop you and ask for your ID, so if you do NOT do any mistakes or criminals, you are safe to stay.

But I love liberty. I love that's the way it is.

This is how they make fun of the president and they live up the people !Oh btw, they have a theme song for this "obama condom". I wish I can record and play it here but I guess I am not at liberty to do that lol =p You can always visit their website if you are interested.

My next up post will be Statue of Liberty, NYC.
